Tails is a touch [...]]]> We got the book Tails as a gift from friends and the first time we read it to the little turkey it blew his mind.  He was so excited that his arms and legs were swinging all over the place and he couldn’t stop (baby) talking.

Tails is a touch and feel board book, which will be enjoyed by babies and toddlers alike.  At eight and a half months our little man is loving touching all of the furry tails, but there are still a few more surprises for him to grow in to – including a scratch and sniff skunk tail!

I have heard that Matthew Van Fleet’s Heads is pretty awesome too.

He was stroking it (tenderly? curiously?) when we first put him down on the ground, but got tired of the prickly feeling of the grass pretty [...]]]> We had the little man out at the lake this weekend and it was his first time being on grass AND HE HATED IT! It was actually pretty cute.

He spent the next while trying to climb from person to person, without touching the ground. The few times that his hand did accidentally graze the grass he retracted it instantly.

It took him all afternoon (and his cousin’s sippy cup as bait) before he was finally OKAY crawling on the ground.

I wonder if he is going to be one of those kids that hates being dirty?

I was planning to attempt [...]]]> So my first attempt to make my own baby food was a bit of a disaster. The steamed carrots and apples tasted like smoke, and the pot is finally now back in commission after days of letting it soak in vinegar in order to scrape off the charred bits.

I was planning to attempt round two today, until I read here that I shouldn’t be using baby carrots for baby food, as they may contain chlorine!? I guess that we will be heading back to the store for more groceries…
